Hand-packed in Newhaven · Worldwide shipping
Orders & delivery
How we pack, ship, and get upgrades to you.
How long does delivery take?
UK orders usually arrive within 2–4 working days once dispatched. International delivery depends on carrier and customs — we will email tracking when your order leaves the workshop.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes. We ship worldwide from Newhaven, East Sussex. Duties and import taxes, if any, are the buyer's responsibility and vary by country.
How are products packed?
Every order is hand-packed in the workshop. Upgrades travel in rigid packaging with foam or custom inserts — the same care we use when shipping review samples.
Can I change or cancel an order?
Contact us as soon as you can. If the order has not left the bench yet, we will do our best to adjust it. Once dispatched, standard returns apply.
Returns & warranty
What happens if something is not right.
What is your returns policy?
Unused items in original packaging may be returned within 30 days of delivery. Contact us first so we can authorise the return and share the workshop address. Return shipping is the customer's cost unless the item is faulty.
Are Funk Firm products guaranteed?
Yes. Our upgrades are covered against manufacturing defects. Normal wear, misuse, or incorrect installation are not covered — but we will always help you diagnose an issue honestly.
What if something arrives damaged?
Email us photos of the packaging and product within 48 hours of delivery. We will arrange a replacement or repair — do not discard the outer box until we confirm.
Products & compatibility
Will it fit your deck — and how to choose.
Can I use a 3mm mat on a Technics deck?
No. This is the most common mistake we see. Standard 3mm mats are not suitable for Technics turntables — they will not work correctly with those decks. If you have a Technics, check the product page or contact us before you order a mat.
Will this upgrade fit my turntable?
Most Funk upgrades are designed for common decks and arms, but mass, mounting, and clearance matter. Check the product page for compatibility notes, or write to us with your exact model — we would rather say no than sell the wrong part.
MM or MC — where do I start?
Most listeners start with Moving Magnet: higher output, replaceable styli, works with standard phono inputs. Moving Coil rewards a compatible MC stage and careful setup. Our cartridge guide walks through the decision in plain language.
Do you sell complete turntables?
No. We build upgrades for the turntable you already own — tonearms, isolation, mats, alignment tools, and cartridges. That focus is deliberate: better physics on a known deck beats another new box.
Can I buy through a dealer?
Yes. We work with selected retailers in the UK and abroad. If you prefer to audition before you buy, ask us for a dealer near you.
Setup & support
Installation, alignment, and talking to the workshop.
Do I need professional installation?
Many upgrades — mats, feet, belts — are straightforward at home with basic tools. Tonearms, cartridges, and isolation systems benefit from careful setup. We provide instructions; for anything you are unsure about, contact us before you start.
Can you help with cartridge alignment?
Yes. We can talk you through overhang, azimuth, and tracking force for your arm. Tools like Houdini and Eeze-Lign exist to make that work repeatable — not guesswork.
How quickly will you reply?
We are a small workshop, not a call centre. Most messages get a reply within a couple of working days — often from Arthur directly. For urgent order issues, mention that in the subject line.
Still stuck?
Tell us your turntable, arm, and amplifier. We will answer plainly — no sales script, just engineering-minded advice from the workshop.
